The actress shared some photos on Dec. 31 on Instagram to mark the happy occasion, declaring in the caption, "Happy new year guys!! Hopping for a peaceful and healthy new year for all of u🙏🏼❤️."

In the first photo, Vergara posed by herself in a black strapless dress. The gown featured a structured, corset-style bodice with a deep-V neckline and a unique matching skirt. She added a sparkling bracelet on one wrist, while her hair was parted in the middle and worn straight.

Other pictures in the update showed Vergara with some influential friends who were equally dressed up for the celebration, including Serena Poon, a celebrity nutritionist and chef, Anastasia Soare, the founder and CEO of the popular cosmetics company Anastasia Beverly Hills, and Norvina, Soare's daughter and the president and creative director of Anastasia Beverly Hills.

Manolo Gonzalez Vergara, Vergara's son, was also at the gathering, as well as a bunch of other friends. In one photo, Vergara added a long black fur coat to her outfit as the large group of people posed outside. The actress didn't share where exactly she was for NYE, but there was dancing and drinking at the fun party.

On Wednesday, Dec. 31, the newly minted mom, 29, shared a series of photos on her Instagram Stories that offered a peek at how her holiday looks different with her baby daughter, Scottie Rose.

Hewitt made her point clear with her two following posts, the first of which showed her fully glammed for last year's end-of-the-year celebration.

"Me last new year's eve," she wrote over a snap of her posing with black and gold foil door streamers.

In the photo, Hewitt wore a black ensemble with flower cut-outs. She styled her in a tight bun and wore gold eyeshadow and a glossy red lip.

"my best work yet, i am absolutely overflowing with love and gratitude and disbelief," the mom captioned the post, which featured several photos of the couple and their newborn.

"wu tang forever," Davidson added.

Hewitt had a rocky first few days of motherhood, as she revealed on her Instagram Stories that she needed dental surgery to remove a wisdom tooth shortly after giving birth.

"who else had to get a wisdom tooth removed directly from the hospital the day after they gave birth" she wrote over a selfie of herself and her daughter in the back of the car.

On Dec. 26, Hewitt showed off her post-baby body with a bathroom mirror selfie in which she wore a black T-shirt and a pair of postpartum underwear. She wrote over the image, "Adult diapers all day (& night)."

She added: "My sister asked me if I pee in them & if ur wondering the same thing the answer is NO LMAO."

Jack Black went back to Nickelback while promoting *Anaconda*.

While discussing his new comedy with Paul Rudd during an interview with IMDb, the *School of Rock* star asked, "What was Nickelback's biggest hit?"

After the interviewer and Rudd had moved onto the next question, Black stared into space for several seconds before belting: "This is how you remind me of what I really am."

Black went on to sing several more bars of the band's 2001 single "How You Remind Me," substituting numerous forgotten lines with gibberish and scatting. The *Kung Fu Panda* star held the final line of the chorus for longer than Nickelback vocalist Chad Kroeger did in the recording, prompting Rudd to exclaim, "He held that s---!"

Black was extremely satisfied that he was able to enter his mind palace and access the forgotten memory of the Nickelback track. "I went into a coma," he told Rudd of his pause before singing. "You were talking by yourself, looking to me for help. I was like, 'I can't. I'm trying to remember Nickelback.' I'm so glad, that's such a relief."

The *Minecraft Movie* star acknowledged that he totally derailed the flow of the interview.

"He had moved on to the next question. But I went back to Nickelback!" he said.

"He'd moved onto the next *press junket*," Rudd joked.

Black also jokingly played up his lyrical recall skills.

"Amazingly, I got every lyric right," he said.

"How You Remind Me" was Nickelback's biggest hit. The single reached the No. 1 spot on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart, and Billboard later revealed that it was the No. 45 song of all time in the history of the Hot 100.

Black previously teased a standout scene from *Anaconda* in a behind-the-scenes clip provided exclusively to **.

"The boar on my back — I know it sounds ridiculous, but I'm telling you, it's magic," the actor said of a scene where a boar carcass is strapped to his back as bait for the titular reptile. "You know how they have the running of the bulls? This is like that, but it's the running of the snake."

Rudd also emphasized that that particular scene was a highlight of the production.

"It's always fun when you read a script, and there's some scene that is funny, or I'm really excited about doing, and then you do it, and it's not how you imagined it — it's better," the *Ant-Man* star said. "I'm watching him going, *Oh my God, I can't take my eyes off this*. *This is so funny*."

*Anaconda* is now playing in theaters.

Age is nothing but a number for George Clooney and the rest of the original *Ocean's Eleven* crew.

On Tuesday, the 64-year-old actor gave a hilarious update on the long-awaited sequel film *Ocean's 14,* the fourth in the franchise that reunites him with Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Don Cheadle, and more.

Since it's been so long since the first heist movie came out in 2001, Clooney revealed the upcoming film will definitely lean into that passage of time for the main characters.

"There was something about the idea that we're too old to do what we used to do, but we're still smart enough to know how to get away with something, that just appeals to me," Clooney told *Variety* in a cover story published online Tuesday.

The sequel, which hails from franchise creator and director Steven Soderbergh, features the *Jay Kelly* star once again as criminal mastermind Danny Ocean, along with Pitt as his best friend and right-hand man Rusty, Damon's younger pickpocket Linus, Cheadle's demolitions expert Basher, as well as Julia Roberts as Danny's love interest Tess.

Andy Garcia also reprises his role as slick businessman and casino owner Terry Benedict, though details are top-secret on whether he'll be friend or foe to the rest of the crew.

"They've lost a step," Clooney said of the original crime crew in the upcoming sequel. "And they need to find a way to work around their limitations."

Clooney told the outlet that instead of reviving the franchise for nostalgia, he was inspired by Martin Brest's 1979 comedy movie *Going in Style* about a group of aging criminals. Audiences can expect to see more of an older but wiser crew in this *Ocean's* movie as a result.

He added that they are currently scouting locations for the film and hope to start shooting in October 2026.

The *Ocean's* movies — *Ocean's Eleven, Ocean's Twelve* (2004), and *Ocean's Thirteen* (2007) — were based on the original film from the '60s, featuring members of Frank Sinatra's Rat Pack. There was also an all-female 2018 spinoff *Ocean's 8, *starring Sandra Bullock as Danny's sister Debbie, along with Cate Blanchett, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Mindy Kaling, and Anne Hathaway.

In addition to *Ocean's 14*, a prequel movie is currently in development centered on Danny's parents, starring Margot Robbie as his mother. Bradley Cooper is reportedly in talks to join the *Barbie* star in the movie.**

There still "ain't no mountain high enough" that Diana Ross can't conquer.

At 81, the "Queen of Motown" proved her timeless appeal during her headlining performance on "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest" just before the arrival of 2026.

Wearing a crimson feathered floor-length coat over a slinky dress, the glamorous legend began her disco-tastic set walking through a throng of revelers in Times Square.

Ross proved a game participant as she moved from her main stage - with a phalanx of tuxedo-clad male dancers behind her - where she sang statement songs "The Boss" and "Upside Down," to a platform above the crowd for "Ain't No Mountain High Enough."

As she emphatically delivered the song's uplifting lyrics, she proclaimed, "I'm so grateful for all the blessings in my life!"

Ross returned to her primary stage spot to close out her six-minute romp with "Take Me Higher," as swirls of confetti blew through the air.

Ross topped a performance lineup that also included Mariah Carey, New Kids on the Block, "KPop Demon Hunters" singers Huntr/X, Pitbull, Post Malone, Chappell Roan, Busta Rhymes, Maren Morris and Rick Springfield.

Ryan Seacrest anchored ABC's live coverage with Rita Ora from Times Square in New York, while Chance the Rapper helmed the inaugural NYRE Central time zone countdown in Chicago, Rob Gronkowski and Julianne Hough cohosted from Las Vegas and Roselyn Sánchez beamed in from Puerto Rico. The show will be available on Hulu Jan. 1.

Diana Ross speaks onstage during the 67th Annual GRAMMY Awards at Crypto.com Arena on February 2, 2025 in Los Angeles, California.

Ross' medley showcased the expanse of her seven-decade career.

She scored her first No. 1 hit with The Supremes – "Where Did Our Love Go?" – in 1964 and steered another 11 songs to the top of the charts with the group. Ross also earned six solo No. 1s, starting with "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" in 1970, three years after Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell accomplished the same feat.

Her standing in pop culture was reaffirmed when her 1980 smash "Upside Down" was used in the first episode of the current season of "Stranger Things" on Netflix.

Ross remains a steady road warrior, playing dozens of shows around the world in 2025 including the O2 Arena in London, the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland and two nights at the famed Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

Earlier this month, Ross wrapped her Reflections, Magic & Memories Tour at Agua Caliente Rancho Mirage casino near Palm Springs, California.

Ross will return to Las Vegas – the site of her last-ever concert with The Supremes in 1970 – with shows Feb. 12, 14-15 at the Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas.

Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) in 'Stranger Things 5'

Warning: This article contains spoilers from the Stranger Things series finale, "The Rightside Up."

Stranger Things wraps up a 10-year-long story with series finale "The Rightside Up." The 2-hour, 8-minute-long episode reveals some of what creators Matt and Ross Duffer planned since the beginning, as well as the final scene they said they concocted "about six or seven years ago."

Who lives? Who dies? What happens to each of the Hawkins gang? Spoilers, obviously, ensue.

The final battle against Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) is designed like the climax to one of the Hellfire Club's Dungeons & Dragons campaigns. Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) dons a makeshift spiked shield, Nancy (Natalia Dyer) carries an automatic rifle, Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) comes packed with a corrosive slingshot, Mike (Finn Wolfhard) gets...well, a flare gun, but that too comes in handy.

Most of the core crew make their way into the Abyss where they prepare to rescue the kidnapped kids and stop the big bad's plan to merge worlds. There's the long foreseen Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown)-versus-Vecna face-off, coupled with a dramatic Godzilla-sized ensemble fight. And people die...or do they? It's not so cut and dry.

The final battle

David Harbour and Millie Bobby Brown in 'Stranger Things 5'

In the Upside Down, Eleven submerges herself in the tank and enters the Void with Kali (Linnea Berthelsen) and Max (Sadie Sink) telepathically piggybacking off of her. They hack into Vecna's psyche and, thanks to Max, navigate his memories to locate the children in the mindscape.

The others break into the Abyss to find the physical bodies of the missing kids. They soon face a much bigger problem (literally) when Vecna's "Pain Tree" fortress reveals itself to be the Mind Flayer. The tendrils fold out, transforming into the spindly legs of the sharp-toothed leviathan, this time in its flesh-and-bone kaiju form and not the misty monolith we've seen in previous seasons.

While Eleven's troupe finds the children, who take refuge in the mindscape cave, her plan hits a major snag. Vecna psychically finds Hopper (David Harbour) and manipulates him to break the tank, cutting off the psychic link for her, Kali, and Max. Eleven is forced to enter the Abyss in person, initiating a fight between her and Vecna, while her friends fight the Mind Flayer.

Will (Noah Schnapp) connects with Vecna's mind and tries to reason with him. Told through memories, we learn that a young Henry Creel was exposed to particles from the Mind Flayer in that Nevada cave from his childhood. The pep talk doesn't hit, and Eleven is forced to impale Vecna on a spike, thereby destroying the Mind Flayer as a result of their connection. However, it's Joyce (Winona Ryder) who delivers the final death blow, taking an axe to Vecna's head.

Who dies on Stranger Things?

Courtesy of Netflix

Linnea Berthelsen as Kali in 'Stranger Things 5'

Here comes the question everyone wants to know about, and there's no definitive answer.

Kali definitely dies no matter which way you swing it. The military seemingly guns her down during a confrontation with Hopper and Eleven. (We'll get to the "seemingly" shortly.) Eleven then kills Lieutenant Akers (Alex Breaux) as a reaction to that event, so he, too, is dead.

It also appears on the surface that Eleven dies. When the gang emerges from the Upside Down into Hawkins, Dr. Kay (Linda Hamilton) and her military promptly capture them, but Eleven stays inside the wormhole, allowing herself to be destroyed with it as the detonator takes out the exotic matter and collapses the bridge.

It gets complicated because an ending time jump that takes place 18 months later sees Mike (Finn Wolfhard) weaving a tale about how Kali didn't really die when she was shot by the military. Instead, according to him, she survived and used her powers to create the illusion of Eleven getting wiped out with the collapsing Upside Down. In this scenario, Eleven got away and traveled somewhere safe — someplace with multiple waterfalls, just like the ones Mike fantasized about for them.

Mike and his friends ultimately believe to choose this as the story they believe, but it's not clear.

What happens to the main characters?

Courtesy of Netflix

The cast of 'Stranger Things' in the series finale

The 18-month time jump reveals Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, and Max preparing for their Hawkins High graduation. After playing one final D&D game, Mike shares the stories of what happens to their main players.

Max and Lucas are together. They finally get that movie date they dreamed about and settle down in the future. Dustin, who becomes the valedictorian of his graduating class, goes off to college, but he takes regular breaks to have adventures with Steve (Joe Keery). Will, who came out in the penultimate episode, moves to a metropolis and is shown having a conversation with a guy at a bar.

And Mike becomes a professional writer, sharing the stories of his friends to the masses for years to come.

Get your daily dose of entertainment news, celebrity updates, and what to watch with our EW Dispatch newsletter.

As for the older teens, they've moved on from high school, too. Steve stays in Hawkins to serve as a little-league baseball coach and sex ed teacher. Robin (Maya Hawke) goes to Smith College but comes back for another installment of "Rockin' Robin" radio. Nancy (Natalia Dyer) attended Emerson for a spell but dropped out to join the staff at The Boston Herald. Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) attends New York University to become a filmmaker. His current project is an anti-capitalist cannibal movie called The Consumer.

They make a deal to meet once a month in Philadelphia at the home of Robin's "weird uncle" to maintain the friendship.

Hopper, meanwhile, finally proposes to Joyce. He also mentions that there's a police chief gig open in Montauk — a nod to the originally planned setting for Stranger Things, which was inspired by the real-world Montauk Project conspiracy theories.

"We wanted each of the characters to find happiness but in their own specific ways," Matt Duffer told Tudum. As for Eleven, Ross added, "She lives on in their hearts, whether that's real or not,"

Annie Potts sparked major nostalgia after treating her followers with a surprising Ghostbusters moment.

The actress portrayed Janine Melnitz, the sharp-tongued secretary and administrator for the team of paranormal exterminators led by the charismatic Dr. Peter Venkman, played by Bill Murray, alongside Dr. Ray Stantz, portrayed by Dan Aykroyd; the eccentric scientist Dr. Egon Spengler, played by Harold Ramis and Winston Zeddemore, portrayed by Ernie Hudson.

The hit supernatural comedy film debuted in 1984 and was followed by a sequel in 1989.

Thanks to its enduring popularity and cultural impact, the franchise has expanded with modern sequels, beginning with Ghostbusters: Afterlife in 2021 and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire in 2024.

Notably, Potts reprised her role as Melnitz in the four main Ghostbusters films, cementing her place as one of the franchise's most enduring characters.

Over a year since the release of the last installment, the 73-year-old actress ignited the legacy she helped build with Ghostbusters after sharing a selfie on Instagram from a familiar location.

In an Instagram update, the Golden Globe nominee posed outside the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) fire station, famously featured in the film as the Firehouse, Hook & Ladder Company 8.

"What's better than turning a corner in Manhattan and running into a familiar face? Wishing everyone a Happy, Healthy New Year!" she captioned her post, along with a photo of her wearing a fluffy pink beanie that perfectly matched her eyeglasses.

Her post sparked greetings from followers and co-stars, including Iain Armitage from the CBS series Young Sheldon.

Fans even greeted her by her character's name, with one writing, "God bless Janine."

"Headquarters. Happy New Year. Did you find out whatever they wanted?" one asked, referring to a line from the movie.

"Ghostbusters! Whaddyawant?!" another echoed.

A follower also wrote a sweet message for Potts, saying, "I know that corner. Thanks for everything through the years. You've been a foundation of my character and I want you to know how many lives you have touched."

The reaction clearly underscores Potts' memorable role in Ghostbusters and, at the same time, how iconic the movie was to the public.

Meanwhile, the veteran actress also captured the hearts of viewers with her role as Meemaw in Young Sheldon, where she played Connie Tucker, the feisty and outspoken yet loving grandmother of the Cooper kids.

In addition, she is set to play another interesting role in the upcoming medical comedy series titled Best Medicine, the U.S. adaptation of the popular British series Doc Martin.

Viewers will get to watch Potts play the strong lobster woman named Joan, the aunt of the main character, Dr. Best, portrayed by Josh Charles. Best Medicine airs on Jan. 4 on FOX.
