Tim Robinson as Ron in the season 1 finale of 'The Chair Company'Key Points -

The Chair Company is an HBO series about a project manager who spirals down a conspiracy rabbit hole after an embarrassing incident at work.

Tim Robinson, Lake Bell, Sophia Lillis, and Joseph Tudisco lead the cast.

The season 1 finale promises an even darker and more circuitous second season.

TV is awash in elaborate criminal networks and conspiracies these days, but no show is leaping into the rabbit hole quite like The Chair Company.

The HBO series, which Entertainment Weekly's Kristen Baldwin lauded as "wonderfully weird," was created by Tim Robinson and Zach Kanin, the duo behind Netflix hit I Think You Should Leave. Robinson leads the gonzo comedy as Ron Trosper, a project manager for the Fisher Robay development firm who stumbles upon a vast conspiracy after his chair breaks during a work presentation.

The Chair Company's first season saw Ron investigating chair manufacturer Tecca and its parent company, Red Ball Market Global (RBMG), which he suspects of refashioning old chairs and selling them as brand new. His obsession brings him face-to-face with several shady characters affiliated with Tecca and RBMG, all while putting his job and family at risk.

The season 1 finale raised as many questions as it answered, revealing that Ron's supposed grasp of the conspiracy isn't as ironclad as he thought. Also, several of those in his orbit — like his boss, Jeff (Lou Diamond Phillips), and ally Mike (Joseph Tudisco) — contain secrets of their own that Ron will be forced to confront.

So, what happened in The Chair Company season 1 finale? Let's break it down.

Who is Alice Quintana?

Tim Robinson and Lake Bell in the season 1 finale of 'The Chair Company'

In the penultimate episode, Ron deduced that Alice Quintana (Kathryn Meisle), the Delaware City assistant purchasing director, was behind the fraud occurring at Tecca. The problem? Alice is also the primary investor in the business of Barb (Lake Bell), Ron's wife. To expose her would threaten Barb's livelihood.

As Ron sees it, Alice is only investing in Barb's business because she wants Ron to stop looking into Tecca and RBMG. That's enough to satisfy him, as it means his investigation meant something. He's even happier when he finds out from a friend that Barb knew about his efforts to expose Tecca, and was impressed by them. He feels like a hero.

The finale, however, throws him a few curveballs. The first? Alice isn't the mastermind he thought she was. When he finds paperwork listing out the executives behind RBMG, she's nowhere to be found. Secondly? Barb did know about his investigation, but she wasn't as smitten with his work as he was led to believe. In fact, she apologizes for making fun of him behind his back for "running around like a dumb detective."

No longer the hero, Ron is ready to burrow back into his rabbit hole. It's a clever and perceptive twist, as conspiratorial thinking is so often a refuge of the narcissist.

Who is behind Red Ball Market Global?

Lou Diamond Phillips as Jeff in the season 1 finale of 'The Chair Company'

Early in the season, Ron discovers the executives listed on RBMG's website are all fake, and that the individuals in their headshots are all actors. By the end of the finale, though, Ron learns who's really behind the shadowy conglomerate. One of them is a mysterious figure named Stacy Crystals (more on him later). The other is his boss, Jeff.

Coming into the finale, Ron and Jeff are on the outs after an enraged Ron pushed Jeff at a worksite, leading to him being suspended. Jeff is still seething about it, and it doesn't help that his employees characterize the incident as Ron "overpowering" Jeff and nearly "throwing him down a hill like a rag doll." Jeff is a man's man, and doesn't like not being perceived as an alpha.

As HR tries to determine whether this was an "isolated freak impulse" or a larger pattern of behavior, Jeff rebuffs recommendations that Ron be replaced as project manager for the Canton Marketplace at Bear Run development. He calls Ron, asking if they can "hash it over a beer" and figure out a way for Ron to return to the company. Ron is resistant, as Barb is encouraging him to forge a new path for himself that makes him happy, but he's also feeling financial pressure after his son Seth (Will Price) decides he wants to study stop-motion animation at the Rhode Island School of Design. He decides to meet with Jeff.

They link up at a karaoke bar, where Jeff has brought along his macho pal Grego (Tim Smallwood). The vibes are weird, with Jeff embarrassing himself after a failed attempt sing Bill LaBounty's "Livin' It Up." To prove to Ron he's a good singer, he forces Ron listen to some of his original songs. One of them sounds strangely familiar, and Ron realizes where he's heard it before: RBMG's hold music. It's an interpolation of Jeff's song, but the same melody and voice.

This prompts Ron to bail on karaoke and break into Jeff's office. There, he stumbles upon a secret file cabinet containing RBMG paperwork that lists Jeff as its chief financial officer. To Ron's dismay, Alice is nowhere to be found in the paper. Stacy Crystals, on the other hand, is...

Who is Stacy Crystals?

The Chair Company finale begins at the wedding of no one we've ever met before. There, the father of the bride gets too drunk and embarrasses himself. While drowning his sorrows at the hotel bar, he meets Stacy Crystals (Peter Reznikoff), a silver fox who gasses him up after learning that the sad sack writes and performs his own music. Stacy goes on to say that he knows some studio musicians in Los Angeles who could help him lay down some tracks.

It's clearly a scam, likely the kind of talent scouting scheme portrayed in Craig Zobel's fantastic Great World of Sound (2007). As he exits the hotel, a teenage boy pulls a 3D-printed gun on Stacy.

"You wrecked my dad's life," the kid says before shooting Stacy.

Later, Ron discovers a photo of Jeff posing with Stacy and a "movie star" named Danny Donovan. We also see Jeff getting a call about Stacy's attack.

"Does Danny know?" he asks.

The nature of this trio's relationship — and how RBMG factors in — is still murky, but it seems as if the conglomerate is involved in more than just manufacturing shoddy chairs.

Who is Baby's real owner?

In a strange detour, Ron loses his new dog, Baby, in the woods. He tracks her to a house, where a strange man informs Ron that Baby is actually his dog and that someone stole her from his yard. Her name isn't Baby, we learn, but Minnie Mouse.

He then asks Ron to come to his shed, where he reveals a "brand new shape" that's "never been done before." Ron is impressed, but when he turns around, the man — now with black paint around his eyes — bares his teeth menacingly and Ron passes out.

Ron wakes up on the man's couch, assuming what he saw was just a dream. He asks the man if he'll share on social media that Ron saved Minnie Mouse's life. He does, but Ron is horrified to read in the Instagram replies that people had actively tried to free Minnie Mouse because her owners "SCREAM AT HER EVERY NIGHT."

Who's the man in Mike's apartment?

Tim Robinson as Ron and Joseph Tudisco as Mike in the season 1 finale of 'The Chair Company'

The Chair Company ends with a chilling image: a man handcuffed to a toilet in the apartment of Mike, Ron's enemy turned ally. We don't know who he is, exactly, but we previously saw him in last week's episode trying to convince Mayor Greg Braccon (Tom Alan Robbins) to leave a campaign event.

Basically, Ron had a plan to confront the controversial mayor at the event with questions about the Tecca conspiracy, but got hung up at a party. He asked Mike to try and keep the mayor there until he could swing by, but another man was pressuring the mayor to leave so they could go in his hot tub. It appears, in his devotion to Ron, Mike kidnapped the hot tub guy and is now holding him hostage.

This revelation comes on the heels of Ron learning that Mike is more dangerous than he realized. Earlier in the episode, Ron learned from Mike's daughter, Lynette (Amy Zubieta), that she's not really his daughter, after all. Her real father donated his organs after dying, and Mike received his heart. But Mike became obsessed with Lynette and her mother, believing that having her real father's heart made him part of their family. His fixation resulted in them getting a restraining order against him.

"He's a scary man," she tells Ron. "Don't let him near your family."

Too late. And now Mike's fanatical devotion to Ron's conspiracy could lead to Ron having blood on his hands.

Who's the Unknown Caller?

Tim Robinson as Ron in the season 1 finale of 'The Chair Company'

Throughout season 1, Ron received several threatening phone calls from an unknown number. He'd assumed the caller was affiliated with RBMG, but in the finale we learn that's not the case. The caller turns out to be the boyfriend of Amanda (Amelia Campbell), Ron's mousy coworker.

When Ron finally meets the mystery man (Jeffrey Bean) in person, the caller removes a hockey mask to reveal an uncanny, heavily made-up face that evokes the mask from the 1976 slasher Alice, Sweet Alice.

The mystery man, credited as "Jason," claims that Ron didn't fall out of his chair by accident.

"This was all set in motion when you were a boy," he says, explaining that Amanda has long resented Ron for a time in high school when Ron spit a gummy bear into her cleavage. It was Amanda who broke Ron's chair, he declares, adding that she did it with her mind. Amanda, apparently, is telekinetic.

Or is she? The rabbit hole just gets deeper and deeper.

Mika Amonsen now plays Sean Reagan, replacing Blue Bloods' Andrew Terraciano

Co-showrunner Brandon Margolis said the recasting is symbolic of the father and son's "different" relationship

Boston Blue's major casting shake-up has fans divided.

In July 2025, PEOPLE confirmed that Andrew Terraciano would not be returning to play Sean Reagan, the son of Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg), in CBS' new series Boston Blue — a spinoff of Blue Bloods.

The decision came as a shock to many viewers, considering Terraciano played Sean on Blue Bloods for 14 seasons from 2010 to 2024 alongside Wahlberg. Ahead of the premiere of Boston Blue on Oct. 17, 2025, co-showrunner Brandon Margolis spoke to TVLine about bringing actor Mika Amonsen on board as Sean.

"First of all, we love Andrew's work from the original series and loved watching him grow up on TV," he said. "But once we realized we were telling a very new chapter in this character's life, creatively it made sense to find an actor with a different energy."

Here's everything to know about why Boston Blue recast Donnie Wahlberg's on-screen son.

Donnie Wahlberg as Danny Reagan and Andrew Terraciano as Sean Reagan in Blue Bloods.

Co-showrunner Margolis told Variety in October 2025 that the decision to recast Amonsen as Danny was made solely for creative reasons.

Boston Blue introduces major changes for the Reagan family. In the spinoff, Sean is now a patrolman with the Boston Police Department, eager to uphold the Reagan legacy while forging his own path.

Danny also relocates to Boston and joins the local police force, creating a fresh on-screen dynamic: father and son serving in the same department for the first time. This new setup allows Danny and Sean to navigate the challenges of family life and police work side by side — territory they never explored during Blue Bloods.

"Really, it came down to we're telling a new chapter in both of their lives. It's not just Sean who has joined the family business as it were and is turning over this new leaf, but now Danny is the father to a cop, which he's never been before," Margolis explained to the outlet.

He continued, saying, "There are all these new storytelling lanes to explore. It felt like there was an organic opportunity to bring in a new performance with a new energy, to help dramatize that change. It is the same character, it's the same relationship, but it's also completely different."

Fans had mixed feelings about Amonsen stepping in to replace Terraciano as Sean in Boston Blue.

"There was absolutely no reason to recast him," one user said in the Boston Blue Instagram comments. "The change does a real disservice to fans who have grown up alongside the original actor."

Another user echoed that same sentiment, writing, "I miss the real Sean."

Meanwhile, others filled the comments with praise for Amonsen and the uptick of father-son moments in the new series.

"The father/son interactions with Danny and Sean have been my favorite part of the series so far, and I hope these scenes continue!" one fan wrote on Instagram. "It's great to see Danny adapting to being the father of a cop."

What has Mika Amonsen said about the recasting?

Mika Amonsen attends the screening for "THANKSGIVING" on November 14, 2023 in Los Angeles, California.

Amonsen has acknowledged that his casting as Sean has drawn "some negativity" from fans, but he's choosing to focus on the positive responses he's seen on social media.

"When I look under those posts that have the negativity, there's a lot of fans rallying for Sean and people saying that they really enjoyed this character that I've created — or my version of character," he told Us Weekly in November 2025. "That makes me happy."

Amonsen also admitted that stepping into Terraciano's role came with "a ton of pressure." To prepare, he binged Blue Bloods and made sure to preserve certain defining traits of Sean, like his hair styling and upbeat energy.

"I really want to maintain Sean as close as I can out of respect for this character that everyone loves — but also the character Andrew built," the actor added.

While Terraciano hasn't commented on the Boston Blue recasting, he seemed at peace with closing the chapter on Sean when Blue Bloods finished filming its final season in June 2024.

"It feels like, after 15 years, 'family' isn't a big enough word for all of the people at Blue Bloods that have changed me, and helped me, and grown with me," he wrote on Instagram. "I am so unbelievably grateful to every single person that has guided me and provided me with wisdom and lessons that I will hold with me."

He continued, writing, "To the cast and crew, tell everyone you can how fantastic this was, because it was fantastic, and consider this a formal thank you to each and every one of you. I look forward to seeing everything you all go out and do. Sean Reagan, I let you go."

Madonna is hung up on President Donald Trump's decision to not publicly acknowledge World AIDS Day this year.

On Monday, the "Like a Virgin" singer celebrated the international day dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic with a powerful message on social media that slammed the current administration for refusing to commemorate the day.

Madonna shared her emotional message on Instagram to honor the day amidst the silence from the POTUS, marking the first time the U.S. hasn't commemorated the day since it began in 1988.

"Today is World AIDS Day. For four decades, this day has been internationally recognized around the world by people from all walks of life, because millions of people's lives have been touched by the HIV crisis," Madonna wrote in the post. "People have lost lovers and husbands and wives and girlfriends and boyfriends and mothers and daughters and children to this deadly disease, of which there is still no cure."

Madonna, who has been a longtime advocate for the AIDS/HIV crisis, went on to declare her disappointment in the government's silence on such an important day of awareness for a disease that continues to impact many citizens.

"Donald Trump has announced that World AIDS Day should no longer be acknowledged," she wrote. "It's one thing to order federal agents to refrain from commemorating this day, but to ask the general public to pretend it never happened is ridiculous, it's absurd, it's unthinkable. I bet he's never watched his best friend die of AIDS, held their hand, and watched the blood drain from their face as they took their last breath at the age of 23."

Madonna continued, "The list of people that I have known and loved and lost to AIDS is pretty long. I'm sure many of you out there can relate. Let me say it one more time — there still isn't a cure for AIDS and people still die from it. I refuse to acknowledge that these people have died in vain. And I will continue to honor World AIDS Day, and I hope you will honor it with me."

World AIDS Day occurs annually on Dec. 1 since its inception in 1988. It is one of 11 official global public health campaigns from the World Health Organization.

Last week, the U.S. State Department sent an email to employees that stated, "The U.S. Government will not be commemorating World AIDS Day this year."

Get your daily dose of entertainment news, celebrity updates, and what to watch with our EW Dispatch newsletter.

The email declared that government funds could not be used to celebrate or promote awareness of the day in any way. Employees were also told they must "refrain from publicly promoting World AIDS Day through any communication channels, including social media, media engagements, speeches or other public-facing messaging."

The announcement follows recent federal funding cuts to efforts battling the AIDS/HIV crisis.

The season for sharing screenshots of your music habits is nearly upon us.

Apple Music Replay, the sister-streaming launch to Spotify Wrapped, could drop this week, based on release dates from years past.

All eyes (and ears) were on the diss track war between Kendrick Lamar and Drake − in addition to Sabrina Carpenter's not-so sweet musings − as all of the artists took top slots on Apple Music's Replay charts last year.

Taylor Swift, country music's rising star Shaboozey and up-and-comers Benson Boone and Teddy Swims all also earned flowers in 2024.

While the release date for users' 2025 report has yet to be revealed, Apple Music subscribers can geek out about which artists, albums and genres they listened to most this year soon enough.

Here's what we know about the timing.

When will Apple Music Replay come out?

Apple Music Replay 2024 is here.

Apple (and Apple Music) by proxy have kept quiet about details, including the release date, for this year's Music Replay. The tech juggernaut did not immediately respond to USA TODAY's request for comment.

Replay typically drops in late November or early December. Here's a look at previous release dates:

2024: Dec. 3

2023: Nov. 28

2022: Nov. 29

What is Apple Music Replay?

Apple Music Replay, like Spotify Wrapped, is essentially an annual snapshot of your listening habits over the course of a year. Those tracks are then compiled into a custom playlist.

Apple Music begins to collect date i.e., total minutes listened, in February and by December generates a report that is reflective of your musical journey that year.

Replay began as a weekly update in 2019 and years later, in 2022, adopted a format more similar to Spotify Wrap's yearly lookback. The report offers a breakdown of top songs, artists, albums and more.

Last year, iPhone users with iOS 18.1 or later could access Apple's Replay experience directly from the Music app via the "Home," or "Listen Now" tabs.

Those who don't own an iPhone, or have the Music app readily available, can access their report through replay.music.apple.com. All you need is an email connected to an Apple Account aka Apple ID.

The Chair Company was HBO's most-watched comedy series debut in five years

The Chair Company is not taking a seat.

On Nov. 30, season 1 of the HBO comedy starring Tim Robinson came to an end, with lingering questions remaining about the "vast criminal conspiracy" that his character, Ron, attempted to uncover.

Ron's quest began in the premiere episode, after an embarrassing moment occurred when a chair collapsed under him during a work presentation. After the humiliation, Ron was determined to prove that it was no accident, but his sleuthing only led to more mysteries.

Over the season, Ron's paranoia took over his life and the lives of those around him, including his wife, Barb, played by Lake Bell.

"I think what people really respond to is the fact that it is so unexpected and that while it's very relatable and accessible," Bell told the New York Post in November 2025, while discussing the success of the series. "This is a family that you could see anywhere – and yet, there are things behind the curtain that allow for this anxious hilarity to ensue."

So, with the first season of the HBO show now over, here's what to know about The Chair Company season 2.

Will there be The Chair Company season 2?

Sarah Shatz/HBO

Tim Robinson and Lake Bell in 'The Chair Company'

Yes, The Chair Company has been renewed for a second season.

The announcement was made in November 2025, when HBO revealed that The Chair Company and I Love LA — starring Rachel Sennott — had both been greenlit for sophomore seasons.

"We're thrilled by the incredible response to The Chair Company and I Love LA," Amy Gravitt, HBO & HBO Max comedy head and HBO programming exec VP, said in a statement, per Variety. "Both shows confidently carry on the HBO comedy tradition, in their own singular way."

She continued, "We couldn't be happier to continue collaborating with Tim, Zach [Kanin, The Chair Company co-creator], Rachel, and their exceptional teams."

Will Tim Robinson return for The Chair Company season 2?

Sarah Shatz/HBO

Tim Robinson in 'The Chair Company'

Robinson is the star and co-creator of The Chair Company, so he will likely come back for the second season, although this hasn't been officially confirmed.

In addition to The Chair Company, this year, Robinson starred in the film Friendship, with Paul Rudd, which hit theaters in May 2025 and was added to HBO Max later that September.

What will The Chair Company season 2 be about?

Sarah Shatz/HBO

'The Chair Company'

Several questions remain unanswered at the end of season 1 of The Chair Company, including the identity of the person behind the conspiracy that has consumed Ron's obsession.

In a November 2025 interview with TV Insider, Lou Diamond Phillips, who plays Ron's boss, Jeff, teased that he believed the season 1 finale "will be a springboard for things that will happen in Season 2, so spoiler alert, they don't kill me yet."

"I like where this is going potentially," the actor added. "I think it's going to create some real interest in who Jeff is and what Jeff's arc is."

Even when season 2 rolls around, don't expect to know too much going in, just the way the creators prefer it.

"When I watch a show or a movie, I don't want to know anything about it," co-creator Zach Kanin told Vulture in September 2025. "I would want to just be surprised by everything."

When will The Chair Company season 2 premiere?

A release date for The Chair Company season 2 has not been announced.

The eight-episode first season premiered on Oct. 12 on HBO and HBO Max. The series was a ratings hit, with it being "HBO's top freshman comedy in platform history," according to Variety.

Deadline reported that The Chair Company was the network's "most-watched comedy series debut in over five years."

New legal documents show the financial details behind Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan's 2024 divorce settlement

Both stars will receive 50 percent of the other's pension benefits accrued during their 2009–2018 marriage

During divorce proceedings, Dewan had clashed with Tatum over profits connected to the Magic Mike franchise, which she argued was developed during their marriage

Details around Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan's divorce settlement have been revealed.

Legal documents filed on Wednesday, Nov. 26, reveal financial details of the September 2024 settlement to finalize the divorce between Tatum, 45, and Dewan, 44.

The pair, who met on the set of Step Up in 2006 and tied the knot in 2009, separated after nearly nine years of marriage, with Dewan filing for divorce from the Roofman star in October 2018. They share joint custody of daughter Everly, whom they welcomed in 2013.

During their years-long divorce proceedings, Dewan's attorneys maintained that Tatum's 2012 hit Magic Mike was co-financed with marital funds during her relationship. The actors clashed over the profits connected to its subsequent franchise: Dewan argued that she was owed half of its profits, while Tatum's legal team argued he had never withheld finances from her.

The new documents indicate that under the Screen Actors Guild-Producers Pension Plan, both actor-producers received 50 percent of the other's retirement benefits accrued only during their 2009–2018 marriage. Tatum was a producer on Magic Mike and its 2015 and 2023 sequels, and is involved in both a Las Vegas live show and HBO reality show affiliated with the Magic Mike name.

He and Dewan both produced the three-season Step Up series, based on their movie, which began airing on Starz in 2018. Tatum has also since produced his recent movies Blink Twice and Roofman.

The formerly married actors "are good now," Tatum said in a Variety cover story in September, "but it was a painful break to have that fall apart, especially being so young. We tried to keep it together. ... It's in the past."

Following the divorce, Tatum was engaged to Zoë Kravitz from October 2023 to October 2024, and has since been linked to Inka Williams. The two made their red carpet debut when the model, 26, supported Tatum at the L.A. premiere of his movie Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle alongside Everly in September.

Dewan has been engaged to Steve Kazee since 2020, and they share two kids together.

Bernie Kopell is proud of everything The Love Boat achieved.

The actor, 92, caught up with PEOPLE at Princess Cruises' Love Boat Celebration at Sea, where he recalled how the odds were stacked against the beloved series at its inception. Not only had it taken three pilots to get the show off the ground, but early reviews weren't kind.

"The first review we got from this a------ at the LA Times said, 'It's going to sink like the Titanic,'" he recalls.

Years later, fans are gathering and reminiscing with the cast as they share their appreciation for the show. Fans even continue to write to the cast, with Kopell noting, "I got a lovely letter from Germany."

Thinking back on getting the role of Dr. Adam Bricker, Kopell says he "felt so lucky" to join the show.

"[After the] audition for that role, [I was] waiting for months. I'm calling my agent, 'Do we know anything? Anything?'"

One day, he got the answer he hoped for, "[He said,] 'You got the f---ing part!' Oh, yipee!"

Kopell is touched by how much love he's gotten from fans throughout the years, sharing, "I had doctors come up to me, one particular doctor on one of the cruises. He came and he said, '[You] stand by your patients, and you're kind to them and you're helpful and you're competent.' "

Laughing, Kopell adds, "It's in the script. I have to be that way."

When it came to developing Dr. Bricker, Kopell recalls, "There were some late-night meetings about how to name this guy, so I have a background [when] directing the pilot and he said, 'Well, the guy chases the ladies. He's a bit of a pricker, isn't it?' I said, 'Well, we can't call him back. We have to change the P to a B.' And that's how it came about," he laughs.

Stars Lauren Tewes, Fred Grandy, Jill Whelan and Ted Lange, as well as recurring guest star Charo were all aboard for the unforgettable fan experience.

Kopell still revels in the close bond the surviving cast members share, noting, "We became the second family to each other."
