- Disney has canceled a Hong Kong premiere of *Zootopia 2* amid deadly apartment fires.

- Hong Kong Disneyland was set to host a gala presentation of the new animated film.

- The theme park also canceled its nightly fireworks show "out of respect" for the tragedy.

As the death toll rises from a massive high-rise fire in Hong Kong, Disney has canceled its *Zootopia 2 *premiere — and other Hong Kong Disneyland theme park events — "out of respect" for the tragedy that has so far killed nearly 100 people, the company has announced.**

"Due to a serious incident that occurred in Hong Kong, the scheduled appearance of Joey Yung at the 'Friendtastic!' parade, Disney's *Zootopia 2* Selected Magic Access Members Special Screening at Hong Kong Disneyland, and the evening Gala Premiere at Hong Kong Disneyland on Nov. 27, 2025 (Thursday) have been canceled," the park wrote Wednesday on Instagram, announcing the cancellation of a special appearance by Yung, the actress who voices Ginnifer Goodwin's Judy Hopps in the Cantonese dub of Disney's animated sequel.

The park confirmed that "follow-up arrangements" for the* Zootopia 2* screening would be announced soon, adding that, "We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding during this time."**

Hong Kong Disneyland then shared another update on a separate theme park event in a follow-up Instagram Story post.

"Due to an incident in Hong Kong and out of respect, tonight's *Momentous: Party in the Night Sky* will be canceled. Thank you for your understanding," the park wrote, referencing the destination's nightly fireworks spectacular. "Guests who entered the park today with a valid ticket may use the original ticket for revisit on another day within six months from the day of entry."

At press time, the death toll from the Wang Fuk Court complex fires stood at 83, per the Associated Press, which also described the complex as "a dense cluster of buildings housing thousands of people in Tai Po district," a suburb of Hong Kong that closely borders China to the north.

"Our firefighting operation is almost complete," said Derek Armstrong Chan, deputy director of Fire Services Operations, in a statement to the AP. He added that firefighters worked hard "to prevent the debris and embers from flaring up" and that "what's next is the search and rescue operation" to recover those who've died or remain trapped.

Nearly 300 people are reportedly still missing amid the blaze, which sent smoke billowing across the Hong Kong skyline throughout the evening, with crew reportedly battling the blaze throughout most of Wednesday and into the night.

Eileen Chung, a senior superintendent of police, said in a statement to an AP reporter that three people have so far been arrested in connection to the fire, and who were "grossly negligent," Chung alleged.

- Hayden Panettiere tells EW that she still carries around lessons Wes Craven taught her on the *Scream 4 *set.

- Panettiere recalls "memories of the timing of things" — how Craven would slow the action down to "a snail's pace," but "after he put it together and edited everything, he was so right."

- She also says that the late horror auteur "set an amazing example for how I would like to be as a director, as anybody on set."**

Hayden Panettiere takes a little piece of her *Scream 4 *director, Wes Craven, with her everywhere she goes.

"I love the fact that I got to work with Wes Craven. He is amazing," Panettiere tells ** in an interview conducted in September. "I'm so sad that he left us far before his time. But he had an incredible impact on my life and on me as an actor, which I now utilize when I go into other projects."

Panettiere made her entrée into Craven's cinematic meta-slasher universe in 2011, over a decade after the release of the last entry in the franchise that the horror maven kicked off in 1996. She would return in the flesh for 2023's *Scream 6*, after providing a voice cameo to the previous year's fifth franchise entry, simply titled *Scream*. Craven died in 2015, but Panettiere says his memory endures in everything she does, thanks to the impact of some sage advice.

When asked about the biggest pearl of wisdom Craven passed along, Panettiere recalls "memories of the timing of things. So, when you're sitting, he would be like, 'This is going to feel very slow. It's gonna feel like you're moving in slow motion, but when you put the music in and you edit it together, you have to build up that anticipation and you have to hit it right on the nail on the head. You can't be a moment over. You gotta be right on the nose.'"

The director behind not only the *Scream *films but the *Nightmare on Elm Street *franchise would tell Panettiere to "'Move slow, or move slower,' and I would be like, 'Geez, this feels like I'm moving at the pace of a snail.' But watching it afterwards," she remembers, "after he put it together and edited everything, he was so right."

Panettiere speaks of Craven with the highest esteem. "He was so spectacular. I mean, he taught me also how to be on set. I would love to direct at some point in my life, and he was such a fabulous — his spirit, the person that he was, how kind he was. He really was an amazing example. He set an amazing example for how I would like to be as a director, as anybody on set, but as a director if I hopefully direct in the future," she says, adding with a mischievous smirk, "You don't have to be an ass!"****

Ghostface in Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Media Group's "Scream 7."

Panettiere's career began in childhood; her first role, in the 1998 Jennifer Aniston-led romantic comedy *The Object of My Affection*, came when she was just 9 years old. Despite being only 36, she has nearly three decades of acting experience to her name, and in that time, has landed numerous memorable parts, from the indestructible cheerleader Claire Bennet on *Heroes*, to the rebellious country star Juliette Barnes on *Nashville*.

Still, *Scream*'s tough and snarky Kirby Reed holds a special place in her heart.

"I love that character. She is so powerful, and she is such a tomboy," she says. "I felt like I got to take the parts of me that people didn't know existed and put them into her. Like, I am that edgy tomboy who sticks to her guns."

To Panettiere, "you can't really define" Kirby, who plays a major role in saving the day in *Scream 6*. "You can't put your finger on on her. She loves guys, she loves girls, she loves the world that she lives in. She is sassy. And I got to bring all of those parts of me that I felt like I had to hide for years, I think, out in her, because I was so terrified that I was going to offend somebody."**

In the official synopsis released by studio Paramount Pictures, the latest entry sees "a new Ghostface killer emerges in the quiet town where Sidney Prescott has built a new life. Her darkest fears are realized as her daughter becomes the next target. Determined to protect her family, Sidney must face the horrors of her past to put an end to the bloodshed once and for all."

It's almost time for curtains for Kristin Chenoweth's new Broadway musical, *The Queen of Versailles.*

On Monday, it was announced that her new show — which opened just three weeks ago — will close on Jan. 4, and she shared a heartfelt video on Wednesday reacting to the abrupt ending.

"I know some of you may have heard that the *Queen of Versailles* on Broadway is closing," Chenoweth said in an Instagram video filmed in her dressing room during an intermission of her show. "I just want to say that I'm so proud of this new art that we've created, and it's getting harder and harder to do."

The Tony winner went on to point out how difficult it has been the past few years for Broadway shows.

"I think about all the shows in the past couple of seasons that have come and gone, that not everybody got to see," she said. "I just love Broadway so much, and I love audiences and a live art form."

Chenoweth then thanked anyone who has seen *Queen of Versailles* at the St. James Theatre so far, and invited everyone to purchase tickets to see the show before it closes on Jan. 4.

"We'd love to see you here," she added, before encouraging people to go and see any show on Broadway right now to support the arts. "Because Broadway is the best. You have a live performance art form, and there's nothing better than to look out and share an experience with an audience."

Watch her video below:

*The Queen of Versailles* is based on Lauren Greenfield's 2012 documentary of the same name about billionaires Jackie and David Siegel trying to build a mansion in Florida inspired by the Palace of Versailles amid the 2008 financial crisis, which negatively impacted their assets and lifestyle.

Chenoweth stars in the musical with F. Murray Abraham, with music and lyrics by Oscar-winner Stephen Schwartz (featuring the first time Chenoweth and Schwartz worked together on Broadway since the original run of *Wicked*). The book comes from Lindsey Ferrentino, and it is directed by Tony-winner Michael Arden.

The musical opened Nov. 9 to negative reviews, with **'s Dalton Ross writing in a review that "the songs are just one of many problems plaguing an identity crisis of a show that doesn't quite seem to know what it wants to be." The show has grossed over $6 million so far after costing an estimated $22.5 million to launch, and was expected to run for much longer since ticketing websites had performances listed through March 29.

Chenoweth's video was cut short when a voice on the loudspeaker announced a five-minute warning to take her place for the top of Act 2 — because the show must go on, even with the end looming.**

Robert Plant is best known as the lead singer of Led Zeppelin, argued as one of the most formative rock and roll bands in history. Since their worldwide debut in 1969, Zeppelin went on to become a top-selling band of all time, with over 300 million records sold—and counting—despite their formal split in 1980.

While speaking on CBS Mornings, Plant discussed his friendship with fellow rock legend, the late Janis Joplin. Joplin tragically died on Oct. 4, 1970, at the age of 27. She is remembered for her raspy voice and emotional lyrics, chronicling a life riddled with drug use and heartache.

"I was friends with her, yeah. She used to look after me," said Plant, a reflective gleam in his eye.

"She used to bring me stuff to help me with my voice, when my voice was rough."

When asked if the late songstress brought him tea, Plant said: "No, vodka."

On Sept. 26, 2025, Plant released his latest project, Saving Grace. The musician's twelfth studio album outside of Led Zeppelin, Saving Grace features singer Suzi Dian, as well as the rest of his touring band: Oli Jefferson on drums, Tony Kelsey on guitar, Matt Worley on strings and banjo, and cellist Barney Morse-Brown.

The band will tour throughout the U.K. in December, kicking things off at Portsmouth Guildhall in England on Dec. 8.

"I guess I finally got off all the busses that led to one particular destination in my career, and just got into this bus, and this is... it's fine," said Plant, adding the 'bus' in question is his "saving grace."

When asked what saving grace means to him, Plant reflected: "Exactly this. I'm free."

George Clooney is reflecting on what could have been.

While reminiscing about the early days of his career, the 64-year-old actor recently told The Sunday Times that he vividly remembers his desire to break out of his usual TV roles to become a serious film actor. But just when he thought he was going to get his big break as J.D. in 1991's Thelma & Louise, Brad Pitt entered the picture.

"I got to the final test for a role in Thelma & Louise," Clooney recalled of the Ridley Scott-directed film. "And, motherf------, Brad got it."

"I didn't watch Thelma & Louise for years because I was annoyed," he continued. "The part launched his career in film. He was doing sitcoms and crap before, so when it was the thing that could've launched me? F---!"

Now, the two have become longtime friends and have starred in a number of movies together, including Ocean's Eleven and its sequels. And once Clooney finally brought himself to watch Thelma & Louise, he admitted that Pitt, 61, was the obvious choice for the role.

"He gives me s---," the Jay Kelly actor said of the F1 star. "But, of course, when I saw it, I was like, 'Well, it had to be that guy.' "

For his part, Pitt previously recalled that the casting agents "went through a couple of other actors" before officially offering him the part.

"I just thought, I'm the guy for this," he said in a January 2023 cover interview for W Magazine's Best Performances issue. "I didn't get the part at first, and then it came back around, and I didn't get it again, and I went, 'Huh. All right. Moving on.' And then it came back around again … I feel like it was three times."

He also went on to share insight into the famous love scene that sparked his "entry into the big leagues."

"Geena [Davis] was so sweet and kind and delicate," Pitt recalled of his experience filming one of Hollywood's steamiest sex scenes alongside Davis, who portrayed Thelma Dickinson. "That love scene, I think, went on for two days of shooting. She took care of me."

Meanwhile, Davis, 69, said that she remembered being impressed by the fresh-faced actor from the moment she saw his audition.

"He just has 'it,' " she told PEOPLE in February 2020. "I could tell when he was auditioning that he was super talented. He has done so many incredible things over the years."

She added, "He really is the 'star' of the moment, which is fabulous, and it is just great to see."

The Palace of Holyroodhouse is ready for a royal Christmas!

King Charles' official residence in Scotland revealed its holiday decorations on Nov. 20, sharing photos of the throne room, dining room and more locations looking festive.

According to the Royal Collection Trust, which cares for artifacts in the Royal Collection and manages the public opening of royal palaces such as Windsor Castle and Buckingham Palace, this year's holiday transformation includes two 12-foot Christmas trees and a mantle garland in the throne room, as well as seasonal garlands bringing extra grandeur to the Great Stair leading to the historic State Apartments.

The royal dining room has been readied for a holiday feast, with the grand table covered in fruit and foliage.

Visitors are welcome to the Palace of Holyroodhouse to see the holiday splendor until Jan. 5, 2026. However, most members of the royal family likely won't get to witness the festive decor themselves. King Charles, Queen Camilla and other members of the royal family traditionally spend Christmas at their Sandringham estate in Norfolk, England.

The British royals are known to exchange gag gifts on Christmas Eve, then attend church at St. Mary Magdalene on the Sandringham estate on Christmas Day. After mass, they head back to Sandringham House for a lunch of Norfolk turkey, followed by watching the annual Christmas broadcast delivered by the monarch at 3 p.m. U.K. time.

Other royal residences will also be decorated for the holidays, with many open to the public.

Last year, King Henry VIII's former home of Hampton Court Palace in London featured an outdoor ice skating rink, and visitors could take in a display of Tudor cooking enjoyed by Henry and his courtiers, "giving visitors the opportunity to explore the flavors and spices of the time," CNN reported.

While the Palace of Holyroodhouse was getting ready for the holidays, Balmoral Castle in the Scottish Highlands had an unexpected closure due to early winter weather. The social media pages for the royal residence, where the royals gather each summer and where Queen Elizabeth died in 2022, announced on Nov. 19 that Balmoral Castle was closing early to the public due to weather, sharing whimsical images of the snow covering the grounds.

The residence remained closed to the public the following day before reopening on Nov. 21.

"I was on tour earlier this year, and Matt and Veronica, who are in this picture, they're getting married," he said. "Veronica was like, 'I think it'd be great. It's a costume wedding. It's Halloween. You should go as [Steve].'"

He clarified that everyone else who attended the ceremony was in costume too, despite images from the event making it appear like he randomly decided to officiate Matt and Veronica's wedding dressed as Steve. **

"I mean, it looks like I just did this for two random people," he said as he looked at an image of himself standing between the formally dressed couple. "These are my friends! There's a bunch of people in costumes!"

To prove his point, Keery also brought a snapshot of the wedding party. "We've got Wes [Toledo] as the Riddler," he said, pointing out another one of his Post Animal bandmates. "Shrek over there." **

Keery wore the Scoops Ahoy costume for almost the entirety of the third season of *Stranger Things,* which saw Steve pick up a job at a local ice cream shop in the mall. It's there he meets Robin Buckley (Maya Hawke), who helps him and the gang crack a bunch of secret Russian codes.**

He noted that he sported the outfit "for a good year of my life," despite his attempts to get the Duffer Brothers to change up his look.

"I kind of had thought, you know, we're in the action, there's Russians we're fighting, we're in an underground lair and stuff… shouldn't I take off the blouse part?" Keery said. "Maybe the handkerchief? I could lose the handkerchief." **

He continued, "And the Duffer Brothers [said], 'Oh, no, no, no — I think you should keep the whole thing. It's a look. The whole thing is a look.'"**

Keery added that the costume fit differently when he wore it for the wedding. "It was a little tighter this time around, I gotta be honest with you," he said. "The shorts didn't fit quite the same." **

The actor reprised his role as Steve in the final season of *Stranger Things*, which dropped its first four episodes on Wednesday. The remaining episodes will be released in two separate drops; The second volume is set to be released on Christmas Day, and the finale will air on New Year's Day. **
